5.3 miles
8:16 pace
To the track again today with the Five Fingers. As expected my lower legs and achilles were sore for a couple of days after the first "barefoot" run, but feet were just fine. By Saturday I was ready to run again, but just wasn't able to get out this weekend.
Started slow, but mile 5 was 7:33. We'll see if the soreness returns as I work out some new muscles, but I think I might be ready for a longer run down on the rec path next time. Anything more than a couple of miles at the track is kind of tedious.

Boy, those shoes are far out! Do they have much cushioning?
I want to know what keeps them from quickly wearing out.
Dad, they have zero cushioning. The idea is to force you to run as if you were barefoot while still offering some protection.
Kathy, the bottoms are made of a thin layer of hard Vibram rubber. More info about the shoes at the Vibram site here.
No cushioning? I'm not so sure about those...I'll only run barefoot if it's on a field of marshmallows.
