Back on home turf. Chris couldn't run, so I decided to visit Franklin Field. It is monotonous, but a little faster than the river trail, and probably a bit easier on the legs. It is quite hot down in the stadium at midday, however. Was trying for 7, but stopped after the usual 5 and change. Forgot my ibuprofen; had pain in right knee and left upper shin. Wore another brand new pair of shoes (Nike Air Structure Triax 10+) & found them more comfortable than the "Shox", which re-blistered me on Saturday. Will continue to try to break in the Shox on shorter runs, since they should be the best-cushioning shoes.

You know, I always liked the track. I guess because of the rhythm you can establish and the softer surface. But then, I rarely ran over 5 miles.
How did your feet hold up on the backpacking trip?
Feet were fine for backpacking. I was wearing those Merrils I got for the 7 Devils and they are very comfortable. I got some good socks at REI and I think they helped too.
