Little Mountain Summit - 9 miles, 1100 vert. ft. (143 total)

9.28 miles
1:27:53
9:27 min/mi

Went from Mom's house up Emigration Canyon Road to Little Mountain Summit, 6,350 ft. Above is a photo from near the summit taken yesterday when I biked up. Temperature was perfect - below 60, and lots more bikes and runners out than cars. Took it easy - only intended to do 6 miles, but when I reached the turnaround point, the summit was too tempting. My last chance in Salt Lake. Very pleasant run!

And how did you feel after the run? I hope your legs and feet are better. KW

Made a conscious decision to have one post without a physical complaint. However as this is more of a running diary for my personal record than a traditional blog, the aches and pains will continue to be a feature - at least until they go away!

It's tough to watch your child struggle -- at any age. You just have things you have to learn, we say. I had hoped a few days off would have helped. Was the backpacking trip difficult? KW

Thanks - I do appreciate the empathy, but this struggle is completely self-inflicted. I approximately doubled my weekly mileage mid-June, so expect my body is adjusting and will get used to it eventually.

The time off did help - that 9 mile run was a pleasure, while the 3 mile run six days previous was just miserable.

Eventually there will be some "thrill of victory" to balance out the "agony of the feet". (Ha ha)
