Doug Starts Training - 2.5 miles - (121 total)

After I got back from my long run, Doug was interested in starting some running himself, so we went out and did a couple of easy miles on the USP/Clark Park route. We ran pretty slowly, but Doug did great. He says he wants to start running every day. If he does, he'll easily be able to do a 9 or 10-miler at the pace we did this morning in a few months.

His face did get quite blotchy by the time we finished. That happens to him sometimes after a lot of heat or exertion. Here's a pic with Jackie taken shortly after our run.

(You can get Doug's own story at his new blog.)

[I'm not adding this run to the total in order to help bring the diary total back in line with the Nike+ total in the graph on the right. I've lost about 5 Nike+ miles since this project started. This will bring me within a mile of consistency.]

Good for Doug. He's got a runner's build.
