Forty degrees warmer today than it was for Monday's run 48 hours ago. This might be the last opportunity to run in mid-60s weather until April. Wet and windy - would have been positively hot otherwise. Legs were a bit tender, so I tried to keep the speed down. Was aiming for about 8:00 and came pretty close.
I'm thinking about doing just 5 miles Friday, taking the weekend off, and then trying to run four or five 5-milers next week. I wonder if that would be harder or easier on my legs. It would be nice to get into the habit of running 5 times a week, then gradually increasing distance for each run until I'm doing 10-milers again. My hope would be to get to 50 miles/week by 6/26.

It's good to set goals and this is a good time of year to be thinking about it. According to weather people, we're expecting a spell of cold next week when lows will be in the teens and highs in the 20s. That discourages outdoor exercise for everyone but die hards -- like Nellie. KW
