8:08 min/mile
Chris and I met near the office at 7:00 this morning and did our normal river loop, but looped in the opposite direction in order to take the Sweetbriar cutoff back to where we started. We ended up walking two or three miles back, but the walking is probably a good thing.
I'm glad we quit running at 8 miles - calf was starting to hurt, and had to slow down significantly after 6. Did not want to wait for my leg to completely fail before quitting. Humidity was awful; in the 90's according to weather.com. The photo above is from last Sunday, but the weather was similarly hazy today.
I guess I'll do one or two 6 or 7-milers before the PDR next Sunday. This was not a confidence-building run, unfortunately, although I am glad that the pace that feels most comfortable now seems to be close to 8 min/mile - big improvement over a year ago.
I'm hoping that we get some fall weather for next week. It's supposed to hit 91 today, and the humidity is still at 75% now at 11:00am.

I was glad your calf didn't totally disable your running. You are one tough ole boy.
What's the PDR you keep mentioning? Also I keep forgetting to ask if all the running has resulted in your dropping weight. It never did with me but I wasn't doing nearly the miles you are. Cycling does with me because my heart rate is staying high for a long time.
We're heading into town this morning. Got to see that game tonight in HD. Should be a tough game. Of course, I can't pull for the Eagles when they play the Cowboys.

Time for football already, huh? This summer just disappeared before I knew it.
Haven't lost much weight - between 5 and 10 pounds, maybe. But I went down 2 or 3 inches in the waist, and that's what counts for me.
I am reminded of how you used to encourage me, Murray, by telling me that muscle weighs more than fat.
It's great that you've been able to continue running and working through the issues. KW
Kathy, that is exactly what I tell Barbara when she says that her BMI is better than mine!
