1:25:35
8:20 pace
I must still be excited about the PDR, because I started out planning to do seven miles, if I wasn't hurting too much anywhere. Legs did ache a bit in the beginning, but got better after a few miles. Weather was about perfect - this is the best time of year in Philly.
Decided to go an extra couple of miles since I was feeling good, and ended up turning around just after the boat race reviewing stands on Kelly Drive. Broke 100 miles for this month (8/26-9/25) and still have one more run left.
Here's another article from yesterday's Inquirer about the race.

I was wondering how Chris and Scott did in the run. Were you all inspired to keep the pace that you did? Did you try to stay together? With 13,000 runners I can see how that might have been tough to do.
Chris did 1:37, six minutes faster than last year, and Scott 2:02, three minutes slower.
They had us starting in different corrals, so I didn't see Chris or Scott until after the race.
Chris's target for next year is 1:30. I think that must be about a 6:50 pace. That seems out of the question for me now, but I would have thought the same thing about an under-8-minute pace a year ago.
This morning we were discussing a 25k race next month, and training for the Philly Marathon in November, '09. Right now all things seem possible!
